Environmental Policy
The St. George Lycabettus environmental campaign is committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and aims to improve and maintain a clean, eco friendly hotel operation.
Below are few of our activities, objectives and goals:
- Water- The hotel promotes the use of local water as opposed to imported drinking water, thus avoiding unnecessary carbon emissions resulting from shipping water from great distances.
- Lighting- In order to promote energy efficient lighting the majority of incandescent lamps in the building have been replaced by fluorescent bulbs.
- Recycling- The hotel has implemented a recycling scheme wherein paper recycling bins are in operation in public areas and shall soon be available in guestrooms too. Batteries and ink/toner printer cartridges are recycled and all glass bottles are returned. Also, all paper used for marketing and advertising purposes such as brochures, invitations ... is 100% recycled.
- Linen- In every guest room a card has been placed allowing each guest the opportunity to support our campaign by defining the frequency of his towel and linen replacement.
- Green Cleaning- All our cleaning products and bathroom materials are certified as biodegradable.
- Green Cooking- All cooking oils are no longer thrown away but collected by a specialized company and processed into fuel.
- Heating- All the hotel's heating requirements run exclusively by natural gas.
